Get your body and mind ready to compete with specific exercises  aimed at pushing you further in your training. These classes will see you undertake techniques and fitness drills that have been designed specifically to prepare for tournaments and Jiu Jitsu matches.

OPEN MAT

Our adult Open Mat class is on Saturday morning from 11am – 1pm, and normally consists of 1 hour personal drills in pairs leading into 1 hour of live sparring training. These classes are open to all adults and are for both Gi and No-Gi training.

FUNDAMENTALS CLASSES

The Gracie Barra Fundamentals Program teaches these basic principles of effective fighting. Its structure condenses an immense diversity of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu into core fundamental moves combined intelligently and safely to optimize your learning.

FUTURE CHAMPIONS

As a contact sport, Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu provides a very challenging yet safe and caring environment for a child to mature towards a real life champion. The outcome of continued childhood practice of GB BJJ goes far beyond the accomplishments on the mats. The discipline and excellence demanded by our instructors can often carry over into the child’s everyday behavior at home and at school.

ADVANCED CURRICULUM

The Gracie Barra Program Structure defines three main stages of development for students: the Fundamentals Program, the Advanced Program and the Black Belt Program. These stages indicate different maturity levels and students upgrade from one to the other in their own natural progression. The Advanced Program is built on high-level techniques and drills that start shaping the students game flow

NO-GI TRAINING

The No-Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu utilises the principles of BJJ – leverage, position, hip movement etc. – and employs a full range of BJJ submissions and defenses. The different aspect though is that all training or sparring is performed with the use of a “Gi” . In this program, students are obliged to use official Gracie Barra rash guards and fighting shorts, the perfect way to take advantage of the No-Gi class and sparring with your colleagues.
